Joyce Ilene Aycock

JOYCE AYCOCK, age 89, of Hoover, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2012. She was the last surviving member of a large family of ten children, raised three children of her own, and took care of her husband for 68 years. Joyce has been a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church since 1973, and before that was a devoted part of Acipco Baptist Church in north Birmingham for over 20 years. She is survived by her loving husband Clarence Aycock, her children Terry Aycock, Sue Finn (Jim), and Tom Aycock (Pam), and grandchildren Chris Aycock (Heidi), Eric Finn (Christi), Sean Finn, Dena Palser (Ryan), and Paige Garrison (Tyler). Survivors also include 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Services will be Wednesday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with visitation one hour beforehand. Burial will follow at Bivens Chapel Cemetery in Brookside, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may also be made to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
