John "Randy" Randolph Mealer

John Randolph “Randy” Mealer, age 56 of Hayden, Alabama passed away on July 5th, 2023. He was born on November 5th, 1966 to the late Glenn Ray Mealer and Anita Louise Babb Mealer. He went by many names including, Randy, Thumper, Dad, but his favorite was PawPaw. Randy had the ability to make any moment fun by bringing laughter and smiles to the room. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. Randy enjoyed working on cars, gardening, loving on all his pets, but his greatest joy came from being a best friend to his grandchildren Miranda and Levi. He was a Fabricator for Barron Fan Technologies for many years.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Ray and Anita Louise Babb Mealer. He is survived by his son, Matthew Mealer and his significant other Sarah Lapp; his daughter, Ashley Lawson and her husband Josh; his granddaughter Miranda Mealer; his grandsons, Levi Lawson and Rhett Lawson; the mother of his children, Tina Collier and her husband Harold; his significant other, Michelle Fuller; his siblings, Debbie and Steve Miller, Mike and Donna Mealer, Candy and Tim Dorminey, and Moni and Tommy McDougal; his nieces, Caitlin and Dusty Henderson, Autumn and Blake Bryant, Shelby Kitchen, and Brandy Clark; his nephews, Grant Mealer, Garrett Mealer, and David and Nichollette Clark; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Celebration of Randy’s Life will begin at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Animal Adoption Center of Blount County in memory of Randy.
