John Bernard Champion II, age 57 of Fultondale, AL passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014. He attended Lenape High School in Medford, NJ and graduated from Erwin High School in Birmingham. John worked as an assistant service manager in the automobile business for over 25 years. For the past 10 years he enjoyed working for Davidson Trucking as a driver. He was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed going to his hunting club as much as possible. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Murphy Champion (9-23-09) and a sister, Julie Kavas (11-13-04). John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda Jenkins Champion; two daughters, two grandchildren; father, Robert David Champion Sr.; brothers, David Champion (Kathy), and Jeffrey B. Champion; sisters, Rachelle Colvin (Brian) and Joni Champion Morden (Mike); brother-in-laws, Bobby Jenkins and Jay Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Tuesday, July 15th from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will begin at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday, July 16th at 10 AM and will follow with interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Pell City, AL.
