James "Jeff" Jeffery Creel

Jeff was born on March 23, 1954 in Birmingham, AL to the late Samuel Jefferson “SJ” and Lila Ruth (Gill) Creel.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Nelda Mosley Creel, his son James (Heather) Creel, his daughter Cara (Derrick) Earl, his grandchildren Claire, Katherine, and Sam Creel and Patrick Earl, his brother Richard “Dick” (Gina) Creel, and several nephews, a niece, cousins, and friends.

Jeff grew up in Walker Springs, AL, attended Jackson High School, and graduated from Auburn University. He had a long successful career in the construction industry spending his last 25 working years at and retiring from Brasfield & Gorrie in 2020.

He loved being with his family, spending time outdoors on his property, Auburn sports, and barbecuing. He gave of his time generously to Hope Church in Gardendale, AL and to the Sons of the American Legion where he has served as President and Treasurer.

Memorial Services will be held at Hope Church at 805 Crest Drive in Gardendale, AL on Friday, November 15. Visitation is at 9:00 am followed by the service at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest in Georgiana, AL at Providence Cemetery at 4606 Starlington Rd. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hope Church.
