James Buford Buntyn, Jr., age 86 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He was born on December 31, 1926. He was preceded indeath by his wife of 49 years, Leona T. Buntyn; and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Debra B. Pickle (Rodney); two sons, Keith Buntyn (Kanna) and Alan Buntyn (Cat); grandchildren, Tabitha Ruth, Seth Adam, James, and Allie. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy and then enlisted in the US Marine Corp to serve during the Korean Conflict. He was a decorated soldier earning several medals of service including the Purple Heart. Junior was retired from Century Plaza as Maintenance Director and was a member of the Gardendale Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Minister Larry Rouse will officiate services.
