Helen Marie (Cox) Startley

Helen Marie (Cox) Startley, age 81 passed away on August 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Startley; daughter, Sandra Quick Trussell; father, James Cox, Sr; mother, Fronie E. (Cox) Smith; step father, Joseph Smith; brothers, James Cox, Jr and Hubert Cox; sisters, Lillie Mae (Cox) Startley and Alice Faye (Cox) Clay.

Survivors include daughters, Eugenia Marie Arnold, Gwendolyn Ann Stracener and Elissa Diane Jones; son, Timothy Earl Startley (Melissa) and Jennifer Elaine Langston (Maddux).Also , 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was a member of Allgood Baptist Church, Allgood, AL

She was employed at Tarrant Sewing/ Alteration Shop, Tarrant Elementary School in the lunch room and Tarrant High School concession stand, Stewart Sandwich Shop, Parkway Christian Day Care in Roebuck and Dollar General.

She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed fishing, sewing, crafts and flower gardening. She loved to watch TV especially John Wayne and Audey Murphy movies. She enjoyed music especially Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory as two time breast cancer survivor.

She lived a full life, raised 6 children, was a loving wife and was a born again Christian woman. Loved by a huge family and blessed with many friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, September 2nd at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Adams Cemetery. Pastor, Gary Thrasher will officiate.
