Gwendolyn "Teet" Juanita Scott

Gwendolyn Juanita Scott, a faithful member of Decatur Highway Church of Christ, dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, Nana, and foster mother to many, age 88 passed away peacefully Saturday January 16th. Originally from Bolling Alabama she married her lifetime sweetheart Leelon Lester Scott in 1947 at the age of 15. They moved a few times and ended up in Birmingham where Leelon worked for US Steel. They were married for 73 years. They were blessed with a bountiful number of children. Daughter:Judy Gwenn Pennington; husband Don, son Lee Austin, wife Jessica ; Landon Jayce and Piper Gwynn.

Daughter: Susan Debra Scott.

Son: Leelon Lester Scott II; wife Rebecca, their daughter Jennifer Nicole Martinez; husband Rolando their children Brandon and Marianna; Their son Leelon Daniel Scott.

Son; Keith Andrew Scott; his son Jason Scott, his grandson Presley Anakin Daughter; Becky Lynn Baker; husband Jeff Baker.

Becky and Johnny Wells had 4 children; Jessica Morgan (Jaxon);Sebastian Broome Chelsea Lynn; Aaron Hathcock John Riley Wells, Jr.

Juanita, as most knew her as “Teet” is preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Rubye Gafford. Her brothers Frank, Alan, and Bill. Sisters Frances Clark and Martha Gross.

She had so many church friends, cousins and other family members she loved so dearly. Everyone who knew her or even met her, loved her. She had a twinkle in her eye and a joyful laughter that was contagious. She will be missed by so many.
