He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lucedale. A devoted Christian, Galan was born on September 22, 1960 in Birmingham, Al to Howard and Betty McSpadden. He had a 32 year career at ACIPCO as an Electrician Shop Leadman. He has a 9 year career at Chevron as an Electrician. His passion was playing chess. He loved his dogs and cat "BB". He was an avid University of Alabama football fan and loved camping. and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
His love of his life was his wife, Donna McSpadden. He was always telling her, "I love you. Don't forget!" He always had a happy smile and loved to give hugs.
Galan is survived by his wife, Donna McSpadden; son Austin McSpadden (Breean); son Adam McSpadden; daughter Ashlee McSpadden; daughter Brandie Robins; and son John Robins (Michelle); mother Betty Wall and father Howard McSpadden (Kathy); sister LaClaire Crouch (David), sister Anita Wood (Randy) and sister Kimberly Nicodemus (Dean).
He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Galan was preceded in death by brother Dewayne Davis; grandmother Margaet Weatherly, grandfather Amos Calvert, grandparents Albert and Mary McSpadden, and grandparents Sam and Bobbie Renolds.
A visitation for friends will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, adjoining the funeral home. Pastor, Eddie Davidson, Lucedale First Baptist Church, Lucedale, MS will officiate.
