Foy Anthony Stricklin of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 75. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Karene Stricklin, daughters Neisa Stricklin Gray (John) and Nevada Stricklin, granddaughters Hannah Van Bogart (Tristan), Brianna Gray, and Piper Stricklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flavel and Tressie Stricklin.
He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church where he served in the food room, security, and touch ministries. He retired from his job at Kenworth of Birmingham where he was recognized as top salesman in the country.
Foy was an Eagle Scout and maintained his affiliation with Boy Scouts of America throughout his life. He was a member of the Boy Scout Indian Dance Team. Scouting brought Foy many lifelong friends, several of whom will serve as pallbearers.
Foy was born and raised in Alabama, but his heart was always in the Southwest. He and Karene traveled there often, and he loved to take friends there as well. His love of the Southwest culture could be seen in his homes, his vehicles, and even his clothes.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 1:00PM, with services following at 2:00PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Interment following at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
