Faye Holliyan, 79, returned to her heavenly home on March 29th, 2020. Her lifelong commitment to her family and her faith gave her peace as she passed from this world and into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Faye was born to Edward and Irene Blankenship on June 5th, 1940 and was the loving sister to four siblings. Faye was immersed in the Christian community from a very young age and was a member of Church 29:11 in Gardendale, AL for the past 8 years. She was a daycare teacher at Gardendale First Baptist Church for many years where she loved and cared for many groups of children. She later stepped down from her position to take care of and spend time with her grandchildren.
Faye was blessed with a family who loved and adored her. She married her best friend, Ralph Holliyan in March of 1956 and together they raised three wonderful children to honor and love God with all of their hearts and serve Him daily. She always emphasized that a relationship with Christ was a daily walk.
She was “Nana” and “Grammy” to three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who are also being led to love and serve Christ. Faye is loved and missed by so many, but her family celebrates the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Lisa; her sons, Jason and Jeff; her grandchildren Ashton, Kinley, and Savannah; her great-grandchildren McKenna and Grant Michael; her brother, Donald; and her sisters, Sheila and Pernie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Holliyan; her parents, Edward and Irene Blankenship; and her brother, Marvin.
Faye will have a graveside service at Graham Cemetery on Thursday, April 2nd with a celebration of life to be held later in the summer. Pastor Rick Hand will officiate the service. The family greatly accepts flowers but more importantly, appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
