Eva Young Monaghan, was born in Mississippi on March 10, 1917 and later moved to Tarrant, AL where she lived for many years before moving to Gardendale, AL where she lived until her passing on February 20, 2015 at the age of 97. Eva was a member of Tarrant Independent Church.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Maggie Young; her loving husband of 46 years, James “Bud” Monaghan, when he passed in 1991; a son, Larry Monaghan; eight siblings, Sam Young, Noel Young, Dave Young, Harvey Young, Johnnie Carl Monaghan, Lucille Payne, Annis Pettigrew and Gerall Monaghan.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Sandra Keith (Sonny); granddaughter, Shelley Cosby (Joe); grandson, Chris Keith; great grandchildren, Connor, Davis and Everett Cosby; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Her Funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel in Gardendale, AL, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm, her burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
