Elizabeth W. Mangum

Elizabeth W. Mangum age 88 of Cook Springs, AL passed away on June 30, 2017. She retired from Hayes Aircraft after many years and also practiced as a Beautician. She loved her family and loved to cook and garden and raise flowers and was a huge Alabama Football fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Romano; parents, Tom and Bessie Calvert; brothers, Thomas J. Calvert, Jr., Robert Calvert, Jack Calvert and Ralph Calvert; sisters, Mona Miller and Mary Sue Jenkins; and grandchild, Elizabeth Lea Romano. Survivors include her children, Samuel Romano and Joseph Romano (Dawn); Brenda Thorton, Rose R. Purkey (William) and Cynthia Holland; grandchildren, Clay, Sara, Elise, Gina, Dustie, Christopher, Chet, Scott, Greg, Jeff, Blake and Justin; 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Larry Calvert (Charlene); sister, Loretta Dean; and sister-in-law, Marie Romano. A Chapel service will be held on July 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial to follow at Elvester Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm prior to the service.
