Edward Franklin Rowell, age 81 of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on July 24, 2023. Born to the late James L. and Clara J. Goodman Rowell on March 1, 1942 in Heflin, Alabama. Edward was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. After his service in the military he fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a truck driver and retired after 46 years of driving. Edward was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lena Sims Rowell; his two sons and their spouses, Michael E. Rowell his wife Ginger and Randall T. Rowell his wife Kelly; his five grandchildren, Carter Rowell, Abigail Rowell, Noah Rowell, Alisa Rowell, and Joseph Rowell; and a host of extended relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27th, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The family would like to invite everyone to join them for a reception after the services at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel in the Fireside Room.
