Eddie Vogel

Eddie Vogel, age 88 of Gardendale, Alabama died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at home with his family at his side. He was a graduate of Saint Bernard Prep School, and attended two years of college there. He retired from Alabama Bureau of Investigation, Auto Theft Division, ABI General & Criminal Investigation, and 17 years as a State Trooper, Uniform Patrol. He was in the Army Air Corp and Reserve 1945 -1958, Active member of Gardendale First Baptist Church over 50 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge 907, Gardendale, AL, and a member of the Civitan Club.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Vogel, parents, Oscar and Ava Lena Vogel, his sisters Selma V. Smith and Helen V. Millar. Eddie is survived by his wife Wynema DeLano Vogel, son Greg Vogel, and daughter Dawn Vogel, grandchildren Denny Vogel, Drew Vogel, and Amanda Vogel, nephews, Randy Millar (Cynthia), Greg Millar (Tracy), Jeff Millar (Nancy), and their children.

Visitation Saturday, June 25th, 6:00-8:00pm, Sunday, June 26th, 2:30-3:30 with funeral service at 3:30 pm Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
