Dorothy “Dotty” Sue Massey Watkins, age 74 of Birmingham was born in Sheffield, AL and passed away on Tuesday. She was a longtime member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church. She retired as a truck route driver for Purolator Couriers, Crosstown Carthage, and Emory Worldwide for over 30 years and was very proud of her many safety records. Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. and Betty Russell Massey; grandmother, Sarah Clark Russell; and a brother, Martin Massey. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Watkins; her son, Mike Evans and his wife, LeeAnn; her daughters, Suzie Evans and Sandy Evans; her sister, Joyce Nesmith and her husband, Bill; granddaughters, Natalie Campbell and husband Jay, and Ashlee Evans, and a grandson, Michael Evans; great grandchildren, Autumn and Jamie Campbell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 10 AM until 12 noon. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM in Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield, AL.
