SANDERS, Donald H., age 84 of Gardendale, AL a former resident of Mtn. Brook/Cahaba Heights area passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Don, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Later he retired from F. W. Woolworth Company with over 43 years of service. He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. Don was a 50 year member of the Cahaba Heights Masonic Lodge. He is predeceased in death by his parents, Jesse and Grace Donahoo Sanders and his brother, Roy Gene Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years Mary Jan Sanders, sons, Don Sanders, Mike Sanders (Marjorie), Jim Sanders (Denise), daughters, Lea Norman (Lanny), Karen Crawford (Rob), sister Betty Glass, 11 grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Legg officiating. A visitation will be Friday, February 22nd from 5 until 8 p.m.
