Donald F. Blankenship

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eloise Blankenship; son Scott Blankenship (Kristi); and daughter Terrie Tyler (Raymond); sister Shelia Fines (James) and sister Pernie Hunt; grandchild Jonathan Blankenship (Kayla), grandchild Kelsey Blankenship (Michael), grandchild Stephanie Tyler, grandchild Brady Wyatt (Casey), grandchild Mikayla Tyler and great grandchild Mason Blankenship.

Donald was preceded in death by father Edward D. Blankenship and mother Ollie Irene Blankenship; brother Marvin Blankenship and sister Faye Holliyan.

He started working for the City of Gardendale in 1965 and retired in 1999. He loved being with his family and friends, Alabama football and deer hunting. He loved playing a good game of Rummy at the Morris Senior Center

A visitation for Donald will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 11:00 AM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A burial will occur at Caledonia Cemetery, Sardis Rd, Mount Olive, Alabama 35117.
