Denise H Davis

Denise H. Davis, age 69 of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was born on April 4th, 1954 to the late Paul Harig and Peggy S. Harig. Denise was a graduate of Minor High School, she went on to attend Jacksonville State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham. For 32 years she served as a teacher at Minor Community Elementary and Pleasant Grove Elementary. Denise was a member of Church of the Highlands – Fultondale Campus. She loved all animals but especially her cats. Denise loved shopping all the local thrift stores, spending time with her family, and traveling by cruise ships and motorcycles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Harig and Peggy S. Harig, and her brother in law Graham Davis.

Denise is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Donald L. Davis; her sons, Kenneth “Kenny” M. Davis, and Mark L. Davis and wife Cassie; her grandchildren, Cole, Ava, and Hayes Davis; her brother in law and sister in law, Gilbert and Cynthia Davis, and sister in laws, Martha Davis and Linda Segers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16th, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Greater Birmingham Humane Society or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in memory of Denise.
