Mrs. Parker was a lifetime resident of Morris, where she graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 1950, as an honor student. Earlier in life she was employed at Continental Ginn Co. and Dunn Construction Co. She was a lifetime member of Morris Church of Christ and Decatur Highway Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert O. and Myrtha Mulvehill and her sister, Sue Butler.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry A. Parker; sons, H. Allen Parker, Jr. (Betsy) and Stanley Ray Parker (Patti); grandchildren Melissa Dempsey (Michael), Cassie Parker, Jennifer Rhodes (Mark) and Julie Parker; great-grandchildren Ava, Savannah and Jaxon Dempsey and Kalin Rhodes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Connie was truly a devoted helpmate, supporter and active teammate to Henry in their many entrepreneurial, spiritual and charitable efforts during their many years of marriage. She was the ultimate wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 1st at Decatur Highway Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. Bros. John McMath and Miles Stutts will be officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 30th from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Pallbearers will be Michael Dempsey, Jay Parker, Mark Rhodes, Jerry Thomas, James “Sonny” Gunn and Clint Singletary.
