Charlotte Lessenberry Denton, of Mount Olive, passed away July 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Edgar and Sarah Ruth Lessenberry. She is survived by her devoted husband Ronnie Joe Denton; her children Connie Jo Seale (William) of Mount Olive and Ronald Matthew ‘Matt’ Denton (Lauren) of Birmingham; grandchildren Dakota Seale and Kate and Sela Denton; and sister Donna (Russ) Crouch.
Charlotte began her working years at Liberty National. She also taught Data Processing at Rogers Vocational School in Gardendale, worked as a registrar for the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and was a secretary for the Jefferson County Board of Education and the Homewood Board of Education.
She loved being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren who called her “Munner.” She also enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, crafting handmade cards for friends and family, and finding a great thrift store deal. Charlotte loved Jesus and was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she was a faithful Sunday School teacher and an integral part of the women’s ministry for many years. She also partnered in the creation of the Deaf Ministry at First Baptist Church of Mount Olive.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 July 27th, at Enon Baptist Church in Morris, AL, followed by a service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Enon Baptist Church Building Fund.
