Brenda Ellen Stump, age 85, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 24th. She was loved by all of her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She was born in Freeburn, Ky, on October 4th, 1938. She was married to the love of her life, Rev. J.D. Stump, for over 58 years. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother and adoring grandmother. Her life was spent in faithful service to the Lord and her family in whom she loved greatly. Her family was her greatest joy and what she considered her greatest accomplishment in life. Brenda and her husband J.D. served together in ministry as pastors in the Church of God for 55 years in churches in Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Florida and Tennessee. Her and her husband J.D. were not only devoted ministers, but also served as National Evangelists for the Church of God and touched thousands of lives throughout their calling and service to the Lord. If there is one word to describe Brenda it was a “giver”. She would sacrifice to give to her family or any one in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and every one who knew her.
Survived by daughter, Alinda LaMar of Gardendale, AL; granddaughters, Brooke Lankford (Curtis) of Morris, AL and Kristin Rader (Eric) of Cleveland, TN. She is also survived great-grandchildren: Alayna Lankford, Jackson Rader, Jillian Rader, Julianna Rader and Juliette Rader.
She was preceded in death by her father,James Lawrence Stacey; mother, Elsie Naomi Rice Stacey;
husband, Rev. J.D. Stump; daughter, Pamela G. Gorby and son-in-law, Toney D. LaMar
