Billy Ray Cornelius passed away Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the perfect example of a loving dad, husband, brother and son. He always kept his wife and family as his first priority and he was always the first one ready for church. He loved his wood-working and making family videos. He also loved taking his sons fishing and was always at their sporting activities growing up. To know him was to love him and he loved all of his friends and family so much.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Cornelius, and his sons, Allen (Pokey) and Wayne (Tanya); grandchildren Dylan (Melanie) and Summer;
great-grandson Witten, and a host of extended family and close friends.
He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He retired from Clow Corporation after 27 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father, and he will be forever loved and cherished in our hearts.
A visitation for Billy will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
