Bettie Sue Hydrick, age 87, of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021. Bettie was born November 29, 1934, Thanksgiving Day, in Holmes County Mississippi. She lived in Durant during her childhood then in Jackson. Bettie accepted the Lord while she was young and was baptized in a local pond. She married "Buck" Hydrick and moved to Birmingham in the late 50's where they formed B&M Truck Leasing. They raised their family in Inglenook and later settled in Gardendale. Mrs. Hydrick was a member of Mount Olive First Baptist for over 40 years. Nurturing and caring by nature , she was born to be a mother, a grandmother, an aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Bettie was preceded in death by her husband Percy Vernon "Buck" Hydrick; her parents Gary & Sudie Rae Guess.
Bettie is survived by her son Donald Ray Hydrick; her daughter Mary Ann Graham (Larry Burton); and her daughter Sandra Lynn Henley; her grandchild Daniel Graham, her grandchild Michelle Roberts (Joseph), her grandchild Judd Hydrick (Courtney), her grandchild Austin Henley, her grandchild Rachael Allen (Fred), her grandchild Larry Burton, Jr, her grandchild Lindsey Hodges (Terry), her great grandchild Shaylee Roberts, her great grandchild Jackson Roberts, her great grandchild Barrett Hydrick, her great grandchild Devin Hodges and her great grandchild Katie Hodges. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews
A visitation for Bettie will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Doug Moore will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Graham, Judd Hydrick, Austin Henley, Bud Thompson, Wayne Nance, Paul Hydrick, Joseph Roberts and Larry Burton, Jr..
Bettie will be laid to rest in Mount Olive Cemetery, 3200 Mount Olive Road, Mt. Olive, AL 35117.
