Anita Marie Heard

Anita was a member of Fultondale Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and she loved to watch western movies. She devoted her life to her husband and her family and did all she could to support and take care of them. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the time that she was able to spend with them.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Bradford and Nancy Holt; her loving husband of 51 years, Alfred Heard; three brothers, Horace Holt, John Holt, and Bradford Holt; and seven sisters, Pearl Sims, Vera Brock, Dora Cole, Hazel Holt, Rene Reid, Peg Allerd, and Myrtice Holt.

Anita is survived by her four children, Alfred Preston Heard (Janice), Eva Joan Morgan (Tom), Norma Jean Brooks (George), and Judy Elaine Simmons (Michael); six grandchildren, Tina Marie Howse (Jeff), Eric Brandon Brooks, Amanda Elaine Chavez (Jasper), Amy Kathleen Sandlin (Rob), Jessica Beth Gardner (John), and Daniel Keith Williams; ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life services for Anita will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with a time of visitation to begin at 10:00 AM; funeral service at 11:00 AM, followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
