It's been a little while since I've visited sunny CA.  You are still in my thoughts.  Scottrade is still climbing for Taline and me both.  You were so damn smart.  Miss you my friend.

Hey old man how you doing up there.  It might take a little adjustment for you as I'm sure there's no investment programs.  However the RVS system may work in many other ways and I'm looking forward when I get there that you will have figured out all the ropes and short cuts.  Connie and I miss you, think of us often as we do you!

Emerson and I came by and had lunch with you today. We miss you so much. I can't believe its almost been a year. I think about you every day. You would be so amazed with Emerson. He is such a joy.

I miss you Ronnie.

Today I was thinking about Ronnie's first visit to Disneyland.  He was about 6 or 7 and we drove from 29 Palms and parked in the big lot which was by the main gate at that time.  Started walking toward the gate and looking around, I didn't see Ronnie or Dennis right away.  There they were, still by the car just staring up at the huge electrical towers in the parking lot, mesmerized.  It was little things like that, that always made me smile.  Miss you, Ronnie!

Ronnie was definitely an inspiration to us all.  He perservered through so many tough times. Loved his wife, his son and his dogs and they did him. We will miss him very much, through his joking around and the stories he told...we sometimes weren't sure they were for real! That is what was so fun about Ronnie. Loved the times and will cherish the memories of frisbee events, disneyland, home improvements and just about everything.  The memorial Christmas ornament will never be put away, will proudly have it hanging so everyone can see it. Take care Taline, Emerson, Annie and Action. Love you all, Benny and Becky Wong

Ronnie, You will be greatly missed. I cherish the times we spent together as a family. Disneyland was a blast with you and becoming a member of the blue tongue group is unforgettable. Emerson is such a gift to the family and you will live on in him.

Ronnie Cole ..... what a delightful surprise you were.  Always funny, often irreverent, you showed everyone a good time always.  Two things pop out about our Flyball days. The first was when I saw you pick up two huge boxes that held the timing lights, hold each up at shoulder height so they'd clear the ground, and walk off with them!!!  That was the only time I saw them carried except by two people on each box - and at that with two people they were very heavy!  I just had to laugh; no one should be that strong and it was like you were picking up shoe boxes.  It was not even the least bit difficult for you.  The second was when you debuted Arrow and we were afraid he'd chase or bite another dog. "Oh, no", you said, "He's ready."  And then on his way back from the box, instead of running by the judge, he stopped to bite his shoes!!!  And how about the time coming back from a big frisbee event that you left Pam at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere when she went to the rest room and left her phone in your car??  Miles down the road......Missing anything???  At least you had her dog!

Besides being so fun, it was always interesting to be around you. Your take on the world - your fresh thoughts and conclusions - were entertaining and thought provoking.  I am very thankful to have been your friend.  You will always have a special place in my heart.

Taline and Emerson, 
I am so sorry about Ronnie. I only met him once many years ago, but I have seen all of the wonderful posts about him on Facebook over the years and he was an amazing guy. The stories his friends and family told about him at his beautiful funeral confirmed what a great man he was. I'm sorry I did not know him. Please know you are both in my prayers. I hope you find comfort in each other, in your memories, and in knowing that he is with you in spirit.

I love you Ronnie.  Your memory lives on forever in all of us but especially with Emerson.  Emerson will look to his right palm and know that is you and all his past and his future will be in his left palm.  Thank you for such a beautiful gift.

I learned so much from you.  Our relationship didn't turn out anything like I thought it would.  I wish someone would have explained you from the beginning so I would not have spent so much of my time and energy trying to influence you!  Hahaha!  That joke was on me.  

As I listened to your friends talk about you at the memorial service light bulbs went on for me.  I realized you were not being oppositional, you just marched to your very own drum and I was too caught up my own thoughts to hear it.  I am so grateful that you and Taline decided to keep Peg and I as friends.  We were so blessed by your friendship.  You always brought fun and laughter and a fresh perspective when ever we were together.  You are a blessing in our lives.  I will miss your stories and your warmth.  I carry you in my heart and tell stories of your wisdom to my friends and my patients.  Thank You.

Than material possessions. We loved the way you looked at things so much differently than everyone else it was always so eye opening. When you dropped us off at the airport for our honeymoon you said don't forget this feeling you Have right now. This excitement and anticipation is the best part of the entire trip! You were always more of a thinker than a talker and when you said things people listened because they knew it was going to be good. Perhaps a valuable economics nugget or a really hilarious joke. You were such a thoughtful, caring person, always thinking about others before yourself.  We enjoyed the time we spent with you and Taline at the Pacific Symphony concerts, Padre games, disc dog demos and, especially, Disneyland.  From now on, whenever we think of Disneyland, we'll fondly think of you and your boyish enthusiasm at being able to share the happiest place on earth with all of us.  We truly admired your strength and determination to live each day to its fullest .  You are an inspiration to us all and always will be.  We will truly miss you.

We will never forget Ron, nor the stroke of luck that brought him and his family into our lives. Ron's sense of humor, joy for life and calm perseverance made him a pleasure to be around...whether on an island paradise or in a hospital room. We felt lucky that he and Taline were close enough for us to lend a hand or an ear. I will never see Gorgonzola and prosciutto pizza or cookies with sprinkles the same way! We only knew Ronnie for such a short time and he strikes us as the type of person who would never have had enough time on earth--he was such a light to everyone. Even though you always made fun of me for liking the Angel's and you were always rooting for the other team! Your humor always made me laugh. You're in our hearts forever. It was great getting to know you the last couple of years.   We are greatful for your kindness, friendship, and sense of humor.  We had some great laughs in the dental chair and at Disneyland.   My kids still think Disneyland is your backyard.   Thank you for the memories and introducing us to your beautiful family.   We have no doubt you are resting in peace.

Ronnie was the sweetest little boy.  On his first day of preschool when I went to pick him up, I couldn't find him.  Then, there he was back in the "playhouse area" holding a baby doll pretending to make dinner.  I knew then that he was going to be a great father.
He really didn't want to leave that baby.  Then he grew older and about 8 found his love of baseball.  He kept saying that he wanted to be on the Padres and make a lot of money.  I'd just tell him to go to college and get a back up career in case he broke his arm.  Then, he got a little older and started bowling.  He was a good bowler and wanted to be a pro.  I just told him to go to college and get a back up career in case he broke his arm.  Then he discovered horseracing and learned how to handicap the horses from his Grandpa Reynolds.  And wouldn't you know it....he was good at it.  He would run out of his room shouting, "Mom, mortgage the house!  We have to get to the track!  And away we would go to the racetrack in Pomona lickety-split, so we would get there in time for me to place a bet for him (because he wasn't 18 yet)  And most of the time he would win! And again I told him to get a back up career, in case someone else broke his arm.  Then he moved on to blackjack and figuring out the odds and how to count cards etc.  He had sheets of paper filled with lists of numbers all over his room.  I was a little worried about him becoming a professional gambler, but the first time he went to Las Vegas and actually had to play with real money, he played a couple of hands and the rest of the weekend he spent playing skeeball at Circus-Circus and winning a gazillion stuffed animals.  For years he would play so much skeeball and win so many prizes, that often he'd be kicked off the game.  He always made me smile and kept life very interesting. I loved the devotion that he had to his wife and son.  I'll never forget you, Ronnie.  I miss you everyday!

Ron Ron, all I can say is you showed us how to keep on keepin on.  Connie and I will miss you.

Ronnie - I will always remember riding Segways with you in Newport on a beautiful Southern California Sunday in October.  By then you had pretty much lost your hearing, and I don't know how you were feeling.  But if you were feeling bad, no one in our group knew it; you talked and joked with everyone the whole time and shared your idea for Segway jousting...which involved trash can lids and Speedos for the men.  

I also remember coming to visit Emerson in the hospital on January 8, 2012; he probably wasn't even 24 hours old yet.  When I arrived Taline was in the shower so it was just you and Emerson.  You were holding him and looking at him, and I could tell how in awe you were, and how much you loved him.  

Ronnie showed up for his friends and family, no matter what.  He came to all the baby showers, birthday parties, etc. even though a lot of people in similar circumstances probably wouldn't have.  Ronnie, you are missed and you will continue to be missed by all your family and friends who love you so much.  I am lucky to have known you, and you make me want to be a better, kinder, more live-in-the-moment kind of person (not easy for me, but I'm trying). 

Taline and Emerson - I love you so much, and am here for whatever you need.

Ron, I didn't know you, but I was friends with your wife many years ago in high school. She and I liked to laugh a lot and engaged in many antics! So I'm sure it took a special man to win over such a great girl. It appears you had a wonderful spirit and lived your short life to its fullest extent. And anyone who loves animals like you did has a heart of gold! Clearly you were surrounded by a lot of love and will be truly missed, but you will be in many hearts and on many minds until they are reunited with you in heaven!

Ronnie- Thinking of you and your family who miss you alot.

Ronnie was my nephew. He was a funny, goofy kid who gave us no idea how smart he actually was.  That became obvious as he got older. He would say the most outlandish things, and then you would realize.... he was right. He would eat Doritos and Pace Picante instead of dinner, (before Taline cooked for him) He was honest, kind, so smart and so funny. And yes.... he was buff. I will miss him always, but never forget him.  I'm so grateful to have known him.

I was working out and listening to Ronnie's 80's mix on his ipod when "Come on Eileen" played. It reminded me of when Ronnie would sing "Come on Taline". I thought it was cute, until someone told me what the song meant. LOL. I was so mad at him. He of course thought it was hilarious.

Our annual NYE escapades were always something to look forward to. One of My favorites was big night San Diego when some guys spilled a drink on Taline Snell Cole and Ronnie turned into a crazed protective husband and I just saw him bulldoze through a crowded ballroom sliding my husband across the carpet as Todd tried to stop him. That was when Ronnie's muscles were bigger than Tiny Robinsons. I never saw that side of Ronnie before that and thought to myself. Nice!!!!!!

Ronnie fought hard and was a warrior like none I have ever seen. I would have given up long ago. And he fought all the way for you and EMERSON!!!! I love you!

I'm so sorry Taline. Ronnie was such an amazing and inspiring person.

Tilly time goes by too fast! Ronnie choose to make each day count, no matter what he felt like and that is how we should all live. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so make each day count. He will always be my hero!

Hey Ronnie! Me and Todd are having a classic "holiday drink" as you called them and thinking of you. I bet in heaven you are enjoying all you can drink holiday drinks!

Ronnie was my funny, silly, and a little strange cousin from the desert. I have these memories of my mom taking me and Matt to 29 Palms and dropping us off there to stay with the Coles for what seemed like monthes at a time. Not because I didn't like visiting, but because there was nothing to do there. Whenever my Aunt Pat Cole would leave (which was often with 5 annoying kids under one roof) Ronnie would put on our favorite record, yes I said record, and turn it all the way up. It was a compilation of kids songs. He would run laps through the house singing the songs. Snoopy and the Red Baron, the Monster Mash and the best one was about a little blue coop that was tailgating. I think it was called Beep Beep. It started out really slow and quiet and got progressively louder and more agitated as this guy sang about a little blue coupe on his but going 'beep beep'. I can still picture Ronald Cole walking super slow mo from the living room, down the hall, through the bedrooms, the bathroom, the kitchen, the dining room and back through the living room. He wouldn't let us sit this one out. We all had to follow him. From super slow to super fast by the end. It always ended in a frantic race of the 5 of us through the house going 100mph screaming 'Beep Beep' at the top of our lungs. I can't believe Aunt Patsy never caught us running through the house.

I'm so sorry Taline. I know you loved Ronnie with every ounce of your heart and soul and he knew that and loved you the same.

I am so sorry. Can hardly imagine what it would be like - it hurts a lot. You and Ronnie was a great couple! Take care. We always think about you.

I know no words can comfort you now but know that we are all thinking about you and are here if you need us.

Taline, we are all keeping you and your handsome little boy Emerson in our thoughts and prayers. The only words I can say to you as as someone who lost their own mom (your crazy auntie Knarig) to cancer almost 14 years ago is that the beginning is unbearable and that's okay and certain times will be really hard but as time goes on your heart will heal very slowly. Honestly Taline even after fourteen years I think of her every day and wonder in lots of situations what she would do or what advice she would give me? You never stop missing them, loving them and wondering why them, why my family? Take every day as it comes, love that little boy and lean on your mom, Tanya and Tara and your dad for love and support and just know that time will start to heal the pain a little. I have to tell you I thought the service was beautiful and there is no doubt that Ronnie was an exceptional human being. I was so inspired by him to do better and live better and I never even met him. If you ever need to talk I'm always here for you! I love you cousin!

One day at a time, you can do this, Ronnie wouldn't want you to miss out on one day of love or joy. Take each and every day as a blessing and hug Emerson tight for me. As always you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry, Taline. Ronnie had to be so tough to deal with his illness and now you have to be tough to handle this humungous change in your daily life. Your heart will never heal completely because a piece is now in heaven, but you will find joy again on earth and the pain will lessen. Give yourself time. I can see you have family and friends near you, stay with them so they can help you with losing Ronnie. I will pray for you and Emerson. I am so sorry.

Taline.... I have been searching and searching for something to help ease your pain. Only to realize, there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better. Hopefully it is a comfort to know how many people loved Ronnie and you and Emerson. You are and have been the strongest woman I have ever known. Through your work, your mothering and your devoted care to Ronnie, you have shown the true meaning of love, honor and cherish. No one could have done a better job ! Take satisfaction in knowing you, Ronnie and Pat did everything possible to stretch the years and give him joy. You arranged a beautiful service and tribute to a fine young man who left us way too soon. Carry on Wonder woman.

Some people spend their entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. During your short life, you Ronnie have made a HUGE difference.  Looking through photos I can feel the love that you have for your beautiful wife, charming son and adorable dogs.  Your story will live on in all those lives you have touched.  Although your life on earth was to short, you have taught so many people what it means to never give up and live life to the fullest.  My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you Taline. I spent a great day with my little heart throb nephew, mom and sister. We watched my sister Taline Snell Cole and Ronald Cole's wedding video followed by the Disneyland firework show from Taline and Ronnie's house. Taline said Ronnie was always so excited about the fireworks every night and tried to talk her into letting Emerson stay up late to watch them. So sweet. Missing you Ronnie.
