Robert was born on July 17, 1990 in Riverside County, to John Norman Heard and Kathleen Holiday. He was 2, almost 3 when he was placed with and then later adopted by Kathleen Ruby Heard at the age of 4 along with his sister Cherie and brother Christopher.
We moved to Garden Grove from Stanton during grade school after his grandmother Cecilia, who lived with us died. All three children graduated from Garden Grove High School. Robert and Chris joined Band in Jr. High and loved the drums. Robert and his brother Chris had a strong core group of friends. Robert was especially dedicated to drumming and both he and Chris joined the drum core Incognito. He later started a band with his friends called Denial.
Robert had several girlfriends in High School but eventually had a steady relationship with Daisy Brito. They were together for about 10 years before they broke up.
Robert was currently in a relationship with Jocelyn Verdi and was very close to her daughter Suri who called him dad. He loved them very much and they quickly became part of the family.
Robert worked at several jobs over the years including Contract Services, a moving company for model homes and Federal Express in loading and distribution.
Robert loved drumming, calligraphy, and music. He had multiple tattoos and ear plugs that were very special to him. He loved going to concerts and watching certain movies repeatedly including the Harry Potter series that we listened to whenever we went on vacation, the Matrix series, Disney films which he grew up on, and The Lord of the Rings series. He loved being the life of the party.
When Robert was 13, he was diagnosed with kidney disease. By the time he was 23 he was on dialysis. He was in and out of the hospital numerous times and during his late 20s was diagnosed with MRSA that affected his heart. He underwent heart surgery and 2 valves and muscle tissue in his heart had to be replaced. Last year his liver started to fail. He went to the hospital for the last time in October and died on October 19, 2024. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Cherie, Christopher, Samantha, Sarah, Dylan, and his loving mother Kathy and father John and family and friends. We will miss him terribly.
