Jeannie was born September 23, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska. Her parents, Eugene and Ruth, and her sister Patricia, moved to Long Beach, California, during World War II. After the war, the family grew with the births of her sister, Dee, and brother, Mike.
Jeannie had a wonderful ability to connect with people. She was loved dearly by family and friends, perhaps mostly by children of all ages. Adults she had known since they were infants always called her Aunt Jeannie or Grandma Jeannie, and they knew her love remained unconditional.
She was a perceptive judge of character, but chose to not stand in judgment of others. Her counsel was always wise and caring. She personified the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, seeking not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Williams. She is survived by her son Brian, his wife Kazumi and son Kenya of Kawanishi, Japan; son Kevin and his wife Stephanie of Manhattan Beach, CA; and son Mike of San Jose, CA. She is also survived by her sister, Dee Gordon of Morgan Hill, CA, and brother, Michael Fancher, of Seattle, WA.
