Kerry was a commercial fisherman owner and operator of his Shrimping vessel, The Miss Kathy and co-owner of St. Helen Seafood. He was a native of Beaufort and began his career at an early age with his Uncle Jimmy. He bought his first boat at age 17, which led to a long career as a successful commercial fisherman with an expansive knowledge of marine life. He was a hard worker and an astute business man. But his greatest passion remained to be the love for his wife Kathy, his parents, family, his stubborn dog “Skipper” and his many dear friends whom he loved very much. Kerry had the innate ability to light up any room that he entered and was respected amongst all who knew him. He had a warm sprit, extremely witty and was a captive storyteller. He served as a past President for the South Carolina Shrimpers Association. While representing the Wild American Shrimp Coalition, he was featured in the Southern Living and Gourmet Magazines.
