Val approached everything in her life with an amazing amount of passion and enthusiasm; whether that was baking treats for the people she cared about, rescuing abandoned dogs, or building bird houses to help with the homeless bird population in central Ohio. She worked for Dent Magic for 27 years and absolutely loved her job, as well as looking after her plants and gardens. Up until the past couple of months of her battle with cancer, Val dealt with the symptoms and side effects of the treatments with a positive attitude and without complaining. She fought hard and made her cancer work very hard to be able to claim a victory in the end.
She is predeceased by her aforementioned parents as well as her sister, Vicki Garner. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Doug; her 15 ½ year old son, Drew; her brothers, John and Jim Harmon; as well as other friends, family, and community members.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to HMDD.org in Val’s memory to continue her fight for helping dogs find homes.
Services to honor Val will be held on Friday, December 20th from 4pm-7pm at 1648 Harrison Pond Drive in New Albany.
