Tertia Robyn Roberts, known affectionately as Tish, passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 47 in Columbus, Ohio. Born on February 22, 1977, Tish graduated from Minerva High School before earning her BA degree in Theater Arts from Kent State University.
MSgt Tertia “Tish” Roberts served the United States Air Force for over 24 years. She was a NCOIC Commander Support Staff Airman in the 121st Operations Group, 121st Air Refueling Wing, Ohio Air National Guard at Rickenbacker ANGB, OH. As CSS, Tish served the Operations group by performing admin actions for personnel, administration, education and training, unit deployment manager, and other critical squadron functions on behalf of the unit commander. She had numerous deployments to the Pacific and Middle East including one to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. MSgt Roberts was a decorated airman including the Air Force Commendation Medal and oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal and oak leaf cluster, and Air Force Achievement Medal and oak leaf cluster. Her unwavering commitment to her country was paralleled only by her devotion to her family and community. A pillar of strength and joy, Tish's infectious laughter and fearless spirit touched everyone she met.
Outside of her military and family commitments, Tish was actively involved in her community. She was a member of the Reynoldsburg VFW Post 9473, the Combat Vets Association, and participated in various activities at the New Albany United Methodist Church, including helping with Vacation Bible School. Tish relished in riding her motorcycle, spending quality time with her friends, and engaging in activities with her children.
She was a devoted mother to her children, Thomas, Trinity, and Tyra Roberts, and a loving daughter to Linda Ickes. Her siblings, James and Chad Ickes, along with her sister-in-law Valerie, shared in the richness of her life.
Tish was preceded in death by her father, Patrick W. Ickes.

Visitation will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1200 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on Monday, October 28th from 10:00am - 11:00am, with a service to honor Tish’s life beginning at 11:00am. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Reynoldsburg VFW Post 9473, 1420 S Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 or the American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345 in memory of Tish. Her legacy of love, courage, and community service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
