Tesia Erin Moore

Tesia was born on November 5, 1989, to Lek and Lori Dhiraprasiddhi in Hilliard, Ohio. She lived in Columbus all her life, graduating from Hilliard Darby High School in 2008, where she thrived academically, socially, and athletically, becoming an All-State track star. After graduating, she attended The Ohio State University, procuring a bachelor’s in Middle Childhood Education in 2012 and a master’s in Education in 2013. While in college, Tesia volunteered with a non-profit organization called Young Life, through which she befriended, mentored, and loved many students at Gahanna Lincoln High School alongside her soon-to-be husband, Brian Jeffrey Moore.

Tesia began her teaching career at Gahanna Middle School East in 2013, and taught Language Arts and Math for 8 years, offering compassion and giving her heart away freely, profoundly impacting students and coworkers. Teachers there, and across Columbus, still use her resources and ideas to meet students where they are and help them learn and grow to their full potential.

Tesia married Brian Moore on July 5, 2014 and became a mother to Parker David on February 12, 2019. Her love for them was vibrant and undeniable.

She is survived by Brian and Parker, by her mother, Lori Dhiraprasiddhi, father, Lek Dhiraprasiddhi, and sisters Sidra (Andrew) Petit and Sarita Dhiraprasiddhi, along with Brian’s family, Dave and Linda Moore, Christina (Erik) Barbara, Laura Moore and Brandon Moore. And friends. So many friends. Tesia could befriend any living being and have you telling her all about your problems, hopes and nothing within three minutes of meeting her. She was the best listener and a great storyteller. She had a perceptive eye and a way with words.

Tesia was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer in May 2020. She fought this disease relentlessly, through countless treatments, surgery, and trials. During this season she continued to be the beautiful person she was born to be, connecting with old friends and making new ones, like those she met in support groups with others fighting for their lives and those who heard her story and were impacted by it before even knowing her personally. She always had room for more relationships. She always had more love to give.

Where did that never-ending fount of compassion, grace, love and life come from? Tesia’s personal, rich faith in Jesus sustained her and filled her with an overflowing love for the people around her. It was a raw and honest faith, that began in high school, and that grew bolder, deeper, and more real as she weathered change, joys and heartaches in her life. It’s what she wanted to share most with the world, and did often, as a volunteer for Young Life in college and as a friend to so many then and after. She and Brian faithfully invested in the community at New Albany Presbyterian Church and in the lives of everyone around them. The past three years she was forced to hold in her hands the darkest parts of life on earth together with the brightest hope of life in Christ, and she did so beautifully. She was a gift.

Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on June 10th at Church of the Resurrection in New Albany (6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, OH 43054) with a brief reception to follow. Her family would love for you to join them there to celebrate Tesia.
