Stanley Hale, 79, transitioned to his Heavenly Home on December 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby (Ward) Hale. Left to cherish his memory are his soulmate of 45 years, Linda; his sons Trent Hale of Columbus and Brett (Karen) Hale of Forest, Virginia; step-daughter Teri (John) Leahy, of Plain City, who Stan always said he loved as his own; his brothers Gregory (Jennifer) Hale of Mansfield and William (Gale) Hale of Lucas, OH; sister Pamela (Kenneth) Cline, of Florida; grandchildren Brittany Hale, Breanne Hale, and Brice Hale; grandchildren Zachary and Nicole Williamson; great grandchildren Eilley Rose Holbrook and Bentley Allen Carpenter; sister-in-law Kay Cutright of Greenwood, IN; and other loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
"Stan the Man," as he was often referred to, loved golfing. He played in several leagues over the years. When not playing, he loved to watch golf tournaments on TV. If he wasn't enjoying golf, his love of Ohio State football and the Cleveland Browns topped his list, making sure he watched every game.
Stan was a Vietnam veteran. After his service, he worked for Greyhound Bus Lines, spending 17 years as a driver, instructor, and Charter Manager. He received a number of letters and awards while employed. After his tenure there, he worked for Continental Office Supply until his retirement. In his newfound free time, Stan loved playing poker with his friends at the VFW, reading several books per month (usually with a book in one hand, TV remote in the other!). Stan was a bit of a gadabout in the neighborhood, always taking time to see neighbors, especially great neighbors Jake, Tabatha, Maddie, Brayden, Sue, Kathleen, and John. It was a blessing to have Stan in your life- he never met a stranger, and was unfailingly kind and generous. He will be deeply missed.
Stan's family will receive guests from 3pm-5pm on Monday, December 27, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Road in Gahanna. His memorial service will take place immediately following the visitation. Celebrant Rob Yanok, officiating. For those wishing to be present in spirit, a live webcast of his service will be available on this page shortly before the service itself begins- visit the "Photos and Videos" tab for access to the webcast on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Stan's memory to the Vietnam Veterans' Organization or a Veteran's assistance organization of your choosing, and honor Stan by "Thanking a Veteran, every time you see one."
