Sheila Marie Beck

Sheila Marie (Markulis) Beck, age 78, of Gahanna passed away on November 9, 2023. She was born on January 23, 1945 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late John and Eva (Kazlowski) Markulis. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Helsel.

Sheila was employed as a computer programmer at American Electric Power from 1967-73, then spent the remainder of her life devoted to her family. She enjoyed crafts and all puzzles, especially jigsaw puzzles, as well as decorating for and celebrating the holidays. She showed her love for her family through cooking and baking and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandson.

Sheila is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Beck; her children Theresa (Jeff Hurley) Beck, Susan Burkhart, and Karen Beck; her siblings Mary Ann Filon and John Markulis; and her grandson Luke Burkhart.

Friends and family will be received at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH on Thursday, November 16 from 4PM-6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N State St, Westerville, OH on Friday, November 17 at 10:30 AM followed by internment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests plants or donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Sheila’s memory. Services entrusted with Schoedinger Northeast.
