Sandra K Caldwell

Sandra K. Caldwell, age 76 of New Albany, peacefully passed away on October 11, 2023. She was born April 29, 1947 in Columbus Ohio. A daughter to the late Earl and Nora (Anderson) Daugherty. In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in passing by husband James Caldwell, brother William Daugherty, brother Leroy Daugherty, sister Betty Eggleton, and granddaughter Taylor Tripp McNamee. Sandra graduated from Bliss College with an associate’s degree in business. She worked for the state medical board of Ohio her entire career and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed taking her 2 sons to the zoo and state fair in their younger years. She made an occasional trip to the east coast of the US. She loved country music with a particular affection for Conway Twitty and was crazy about going to his concerts. She, with help from family, cared for her Mother Nora at home through several strokes until her passing in 1991. Like many Ohioans, she made the move to Florida late in life to escape the cold winters. She enjoyed her time there until illness and a yearning for home brought her back to Ohio to spend her final years with family and friends. During that time she loved watching crime or ghost stories on television. She very much loved and enjoyed visits from family, especially grand and great grandchildren. Sandra is survived by her loving brother Bernard Daugherty (Mary Jo), son John Tripp (Deborah), son Jeff Tripp, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may gather at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4PM to 6PM. Memorial service to begin at 6PM. A private interment will take place the following day. In lieu of flowers a Memorial contribution may be made in Sandra’s honor to either St. Judes or Shriners children’s Hospital.
