Sally Diana Peterson

Sally Diana Peterson (Griffin), 75, went home to the Lord on June 17, 2022. Sally was born on August 1, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio. She graduated from Weirton High School in 1964, where she was a head cheerleader. She married her husband Calvin in 1970. In 1984, she and Calvin moved their family from Steubenville to Westerville, where she became an active member of the community. Calvin and Sally became members of Westerville United Methodist Church. She worked briefly at Quality Box and Pack before spending over 20 years with Kohl’s (Westerville). Sally shared her giving spirit with her community, participating in “Secret Pals,” serving as a leader in the Welcome Wagon, and volunteering at Westerville Caring and Sharing. She also enjoyed attending craft shows, bowling, and playing Mahjong and cards with her circle of friends.

Sally will be remembered as a warrior for her courageous battle with cancer, and will be missed by her dearly-loved family for her generous heart and kind soul.

Sally is preceded in death by her mother, Alta Griffin; and her grandparents Ottis and Anna Griffin. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Calvin Peterson; her children Scot Peterson, Shay (Jay) Ottersbach, and Todd (Sara) Peterson; her grandchildren Emma, Luke, Tyler, Maggie, Zak, and Skyler (who were the light of her life); and many other cherished friends and relatives.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 22, from 3pm-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following morning, beginning at 10:30am.
