Roy Allen Barnes, 63, formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and most recently residing in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 1, 2024. Born on August 29, 1960, to Artie Allen and Shirley Jean Barnes, he proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran from 1981 to 1988. Known for his knack for tinkering, Roy was a hands-on individual, devoting his time transforming cars and motorcycles.
He is survived by his loving mother, Shirley (Taylor) Barnes; son, James Barnes; grandchildren, James Barnes Jr., Ian Barnes, and Emily Barnes, as well as his sisters Ruth (Hugh) Koogan and Wendy (Jeff) Andrews. Roy is preceded in death by his father, Artie Allen Barnes.
A memorial service to honor Roy’s life will be scheduled in the near future.
