

Roberta Louise Kallas, age 85 of Gahanna, peacefully passed away on October 21, 2023. She was born August 22, 1938 in New Knoxville, Ohio. A daughter to the late Wilson and Ruth (Holtkamp) Schrolocke. In addition to her parents Roberta is preceded by her sister Phyllis Schneider. Roberta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caring friend to all. She instilled in those around her to always leave things better than you found them.
Roberta graduated from Elkhart University as a Medical Assistant and X-ray Technician. She dedicated 46 years to the medical field. She was also a member of Columbus Medical Assistant’s Association, where she served as president. Roberta took pride in being a lifelong Christian and 44 year member of Mifflin Presbyterian. She served as the hands and feet of Jesus in countless roles. Roberta’s most notable would be as Wedding Coordinator, Visitation Committee for elderly members and Facility Coordinator.
Roberta served the city of Gahanna in many capabilities. Some of those roles included bringing the Crop Walk for Hunger to Gahanna, PTO President, providing flowers for HS graduation for 30+ years, Holiday Lights, Parade Committee Member, and just an overall active and involved community member.
In her free time she was an avid sports fan of her children and grandchildren’s teams. She also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, especially basketball and football. Roberta was a 50 year football season ticket holder.
To cherish Roberta’s memory are her children, Perry (Lori) Kallas and Kathy (Jason) Pitstick; grandchildren, Tim, John, Gus and Noa; brother, Gene (Pat) Schrolucke; along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends and communities. Roberta always looked at the needs of others as more important than her own self and never left a job unfinished.
Friends may gather at Mifflin Presbyterian Church (123 Granville St, Gahanna, OH) on Friday, October 27th from 9AM to 11AM. Funeral service will begin at 11AM. Donations in Roberta’s honor may be made to Mifflin Presbyterian Church or G.R.I.N. (Gahanna Residents In Need)
