Richard A. Overholser

Richard A. Overholser, age 95, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024. He was born on January 25, 1929, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late James B. and Susie A. (Duval) Overholser.

After completing high school, Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. Richard retired from both the United States Army and the City of Columbus where he worked as a mechanic. Over the years, Richard enjoyed golfing and bowling. He had a passion for gardening, particularly his vegetable garden, in which he took great pride.

He is survived by his son; Steve (Melinda) Overholser, grandchildren; Stephen (Lauren) and Dustin (Miriam) Overholser, Ronald Farkas and Lindsey (Jason) Chavez, great grandchildren; Vivian, Cooper and Noelle Chavez, Miles, Henry and Mia Overholser and Julia Farkas, half-brother; Ronald (Alice) Stephens of Greenville, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Loretta C. Overholser, father; James B. Overholser, mother; Susie A. (Duval) Stephens and stepfather; Paul Stephens. He is also survived by his close companions, the Negron and Sordo families.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Kingwood Memorial Gardens, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
