Richard G Hayes

Rick was born on November 20, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio to LaRuth and Glover Hayes, Jr. He was educated in Columbus Public Schools, and he attended and graduated from Clinton Junior College in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Rick loved to cook and was known to make “the best” barbecue ribs in Columbus! He also loved to swim, which is why his ashes are being spread over the pond at Greenlawn Cemetery on Monday,

September 26, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Tommie McGill Hayes.

Richard is survived by two sisters, Linda (Harvard) Stephens and Brenda (Henry) Smith, son, Garnett Hayes. Nieces and nephew, Angel Mathews, Kausha Wells and James (Jay) Adams Jr., and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Grant Hospital and Riverside Hospital, Altercare Canal Winchester, and to Absolute Hospice.

Rick will truly be missed. Rest in peace little brother.
