Rhonda L. Lucas Lewis, age 65, passed away on September 30th, 2024 after battling long term health complications. Rhonda was a loving and devoted mother, wife, aunt, friend, and woman of faith who will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to know her. She was artistically gifted in many avenues of her life. This began at a young age playing cello at Newark High School. She used her skills in her higher education where she became a professional in design. This continued on throughout her life using art as her passion in many things, including creating a craft curriculum for children. She also shared a special bond with animals, more specifically horses, spending endless hours working with and admiring the magnificent animal. Her favorite job, however, was being a loving and devoted wife and mother to her late husband and two children. She was an avid and fierce follower of the Lord and enjoyed spending time exercising and expanding her faith with her trusted church and bible studies.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her husband William A. Lewis Jr. of 30 years; parents, Robert and Patricia Lucas; brother Robert (Pat) Lucas; sister Debra Lucas; and nephew Michael Blain. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; son, Brandon D. (Carly) Lewis; daughter, Paxton J. Lewis; sister, Kathy (Michael) Pellegrin, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, in laws, and friends.
A visitation will take place from 5pm-6pm on Friday, Oct 11, at St Luke Lutheran Church, 4456 Morse Rd., followed by a service at 6pm. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be offered before the service.
