Reggie was born in Toledo, Ohio, September 10, 1947, to Geraldine and Karl Turner, who predeceased her. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert “Kelly” Kramer, son Brian Kramer (Suzanne), daughter Amanda Engle (Brian), grandchildren Wesley Engle and Jordyn Kramer, brother Douglas Turner (Lynn), and niece Gates Sofer (Phil).
Reggie graduated from Forest View High School, near Mt. Prospect, Illinois, in 1965, then began college at Bowling Green State University, where she and Kelly met in early 1966. The couple never separated after that, and were married in 1968.
The family lived in Centerville, Ohio, for many years, as well as Lawrenceville, Georgia, and most recently in Columbus, Ohio.
Reggie was devoted to her family, and a loving mother to Brian and Mandy. A modest individual, she was also determined, and finished her college education with degrees from Sinclair Community College and Wright State University – all while working and tending to her family.
While in Centerville, Reggie was active in the Centerville Methodist Church, serving as Finance Chair, singing in the choir, and chaperoning multiple youth choir tours. Among her interests was a love of quilting, and dozens of Reggie’s quilts – all entirely hand-stitched – have found homes with family and friends in many places. In Georgia, she volunteered at a local school and enlarged her circle of friends among neighbors and book clubs. Reggie also enjoyed travel: tent camping around the U.S. as the children were growing and later on many trips in the states and abroad with Kelly.
Starting in 2007, Reggie began a battle with cancer – breast and lung. Stronger than she believed, she fought bravely through these and other medical issues before starting her final journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the OSU James Cancer Center or Kobacker House inpatient hospice.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 18, at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S Sunbury Rd, Westerville, OH 43081. The family will welcome guests beginning at 3:00 PM. Services will start at 3:30 PM with light refreshments to follow.
