Peter H. McCann

Peter H. McCann, born in Worcester, MA on November 15, 1939 passed away peacefully in Columbus, OH on February 17, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gail McCann, and his daughter, Jenniffer Howell, as well as his parents, Helen and Frank McCann, of Framingham, MA.

He grew up in Framingham, MA and was a graduate of Boston University where he was a star hockey player and golfer. At an early age, he founded his own company and had a successful career as a real estate developer in Massachusetts, Ohio, and Missouri. While he had many interests, including horse racing and politics, he most enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Peter worked his whole life through, happily surprising many that he never retired. He was a humble, selfless, kind, and generous man who truly lived his faith.

Peter is survived by his sister, Judith Sweeney; his children, Julie McCann (Steve Moore) and Scott McCann (Kim Resler); four grandchildren, Taylor Dautremont (Julian), Scott McCann (Amy), Peter McCann (Katelyn), and Isabella McCann; four great grandchildren, Avery McCann, SJ McCann, Luke McCann, and Walden Dautremont; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at East Side Grace Church (7510 East Broad Street, Blacklick, OH 43004). Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, service will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Another Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Grace Union Church in St Louis, MO (3900 Union Road, St. Louis, MO 63125). Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, service will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hilljack House, a cause near and dear to Peter's heart (hilljackhouse.org or P.O. Box 2607, St. Louis, MO 63116).
