Nelson Kohman

Nelson Eric Kohman, 72, passed away at his home on October 22, 2022. Born October 3rd, 1950 in Coshocton, Ohio to Pauline and Kenneth Kohman. He graduated from River View High School in 1968. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Ohio University in 1973 where he graduated with honors. He then worked for the Ohio EPA and earned his Professional Engineers license. Afterwards he moved to EMH&T where he remained for 32 years, eventually becoming President and CEO, and helping grow the company to be one of the largest civil engineering firms in Ohio. He retired from EMH&T in 2008.

Nelson loved to play golf, ski, watch racing, and spend time in Florida. He loved traveling to new destinations, especially for Ohio State football and basketball, and was also a member of the Dresden Masonic Lodge. But Nelson’s true passion was helping people. He leaves his mark on the communities he served, lived, and visited by contributing to many charities and serving on numerous boards.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kohman. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Kohman; his children Seth (Kim) Kohman, Brian Kohman, Tyler Kohman; siblings, Royce (Betsy) Kohman, Lisa (Greg) Walters; grandchildren, Gage Kohman, Reese Kohman, Haden Kohman, James Kohman; great-grandchild, Maddox Kohman; nieces and nephews Aaron Kohman, Adam Kohman, Lyndsey Patterson, Shawn Walters; loving partner, Patty Boso; and loyal four-legged friend Kasey.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, October 28th, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH, 43230 as well as on Saturday, October 29th, from 10:00am-11:00am at Conesville United Methodist Church, 195 State Street, Conesville, OH, 43811.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29th, at 11:00am at Conesville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Conesville United Methodist Church.
