Margaret Ann Zerwick of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024. Margaret was born on September 17, 1931 in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence and Erma Schwob. Margaret graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic High school in 1948. After completing high school, Margaret's path took her to Columbus College of Art and Design, marking the beginning of many dedicated years to the art of painting. In her early 20’s, Margaret was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization, where she met Johnny, whom she married on May 21, 1955.
Margaret was a devout Catholic and matriarch of unparalleled grace, embodying the spirit of unconditional love and faith throughout her life. She was a beacon of warmth and wisdom, whose unwavering love and guidance shaped the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness was a gift, her strength a legacy, and her memory a treasure beyond measure.
When she was younger, Margaret loved riding horses. In her elder years, she combined her passion for horses with her desire to help others. She enjoyed volunteering with handicapped children, sharing her love of horseback riding.
After retirement, Margaret and John became snow birds, and spent many winters in Fort Meyers, Florida. She enjoyed golfing, performing in musicals, was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and was a part of many other community activities.
Margaret spent many years as a member of the choir at Holy Spirit Church. Her voice also found a home in numerous song and theater groups, where she shared her talent and joy with both audiences and fellow performers alike.
Margaret, also known as Marge, Margie, Mama, Mom, Grandma, Great Ma, and Aunt Margaret, was a woman of many names, each reflecting the countless roles she played in the lives of those she touched.
Margaret cherished every moment spent with her family, sharing love, laughter, and creating lasting memories together.
Her story lives on through the many individuals touched by her love and beautiful smile, truly making the world a better place. While Margaret's absence leaves a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled, her spirit and love remain with us, guiding and comforting us always.

Margaret is preceded in her death by her husband of 65 years, John H Zerwick; her parents Lawrence and Erma, sister and brother-in law Eleanor and Karl Wernicke, and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Lois and Tony Caldarola, and Wanda and Barney Sarver.
Margaret is survived by her four children; Michael (Linda) Zerwick, Timothy Zerwick, Kathleen (James) Weber, and Kelly (Paul) Schauer; five grandchildren Stephanie (Nate) Marks, Rachel (Will) Goodlander, Elizabeth (Mark) Mize, Zachary Schauer, and Logan Schauer, Great-grandchildren; twins Rylee and Finnegan Marks, Chloe Mize, and Kenton Mize; her brother Ralph Schwob; her best friend of 70 years, Rosemary (Julius) Mazza; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, from 3pm-6pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with a Rosary beginning at 5:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, February 19, beginning at 11:00am at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, OH 43230.
