Margaret L Wendell

Margaret “Peggy” Lucille Wendell, 84, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 surrounded by family, after an unexpected illness. She was born July 21, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Herbert and Lucille (Bauer) Bischl. Peggy retired from the State of Ohio Department of Taxation. Peggy graduated from South High School in 1957. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of the birds in her backyard. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid movie-goer, reader, traveler, and huge Buckeye football fan. She loved an afternoon of shopping and lunch with her daughters and never missed tea time. Peggy loved to laugh, sing, and dance. She loved a new car and driving it really, really fast. Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Marvin; sister Betty (Sal) Chiavetta; and sister Nancy (Babe) Rathert. She is survived by daughter Sherri (John) Dierna and their children Lillie (Phil) Kopatz, Megan, and Nick; daughter Christina Wendell (Eric Fischer) and their children Jack and Piper. A Memorial Visitation will be held 4-7pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna.
