Margaret (Meg) Jane Reidler, age 64 of Blacklick, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2023. She was born June 14, 1958 in Red Bank, NJ. A daughter to the late Clifford DuWain Lau and Katherine Margaret (Leaman) Lau. Meg attended the Pickerington Local Schools growing up, she decided to attend The Ohio State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Meg spent her first 21 years working in nursing. She worked at Mount Carmel East and the Vancouver (Washington) hospitals. After retiring from nursing, she taught Pre-School at Gahanna Early Experience Center for 20 years.
Throughout her life she has accomplished so much, taking pride in earning the Girl Scout First Class award (now Gold Award), along with the Pickerington High School Outstanding Senior, and of course the SEOWV Distinguished Service Award.
Meg had a passion for helping small children. She was a lifetime member in the Girls Scouts, serving as troop leader during Sara’s (her daughter) membership. Meg was also the key Den Leader in Jason’s (her son) years with the Cub Scouts.
For most of her life Meg was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday school for many years. In her later years Meg served as the President of the Altar Guild, along with that she was also a member of the choir and bell choir for many years. For the last 25 years Meg was the Red Cross CPR instructor for several organizations which she took much pride in.
Meg was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2014. She persevered through countless chemotherapy sessions and surgeries. All the while with “calm, courage and grace.” We are blessed to have Meg in our lives.
Meg is survived by her loving husband, Jon A. Reidler; Children, Jason A. Reidler, Sara A. Jeffers (Stuart); her sister and brothers Cliff Lau, George Lau (Eleanor), Alice Lau (Tim).
Friends may gather at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1200 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10AM-11AM, funeral service to begin at 11AM, with a reception to follow.
