Marc C Loy, age 72, of Utica, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was born December 27, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio. Marc is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Julie Chiang Loy; his children: son, Bartholomew Loy and daughter, FeiFei Loy; brothers, Don Loy and Gregg Loy, and sister, Cheryl Loy; daughter-in-law: Nicole (Richardson) Loy; grandchildren: Autumn Loy, William Loy, Brielle Loy, and Vivian Loy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Idella Loy and parents-in-law, Soon Joon Nyong and Chong Ah Teck.
Marc spent his childhood and young adult years in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Columbus North High School, class of 1970. He completed some college but found it boring and decided to buy a motorcycle and travel. He traveled through Canada and multiple US states. He enjoyed meeting new people on these trips and experiencing the different landscapes and cultures during this time while traveling.
After his time traveling, he found the Lord and dedicated his life to Him. During this time, he participated in the pen-pal program through his church. Little did he know that the Lord was directing him to a special someone, his future wife, Julie. He traveled to Kuching, Malaysia where Julie was from and as they say, the rest is history.
After getting married, Marc became passionate about building a home for his wife and children, and moved to Utica, Ohio. He taught himself how to build a home from the ground up and enjoyed the land immensely. He was passionate about teaching his children to love the Lord and to appreciate all things around them.
Marc was a devote Christian and loved reading and studying the Bible. He was kind to everyone whom he encountered. He was a quiet man but could talk for days on subjects that interested him. He worked hard to provide for his family and was a strong influence on his children’s lives.
He will be profoundly missed by his friends and family. But as he would say, “I will see you again.”
In respect for Marc’s wishes, there will be a small ceremony at the gravesite for close family and friends.
