John P. Gallagher

John P. (Jack) Gallagher, 89, passed away on August 28, 2023. His wife Elizabeth (Betsy) was by his side. He was born August 6, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio to George and Patricia Gallagher. He graduated from Aquinas High School and married Elizabeth (McLeish) on May 29, 1954.

Jack was a salesman for many years and then he and Betsy owned and operated a Wild Birds Unlimited store in North Carolina. He loved his family, cars, jokes and a good glass of wine.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy, daughters Phyllis and Judith (Scott) McMahon, sons Michael (Carrie), Donald (Wendy) and Kevin (Nancy). He’s also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren (plus two on the way), his brother James of Arizona and sister-in-law Jean of Indiana.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Thomas, son Dennis and great-granddaughter Molly McMahon.

A celebration and interment service will be held graveside in Pittsburgh, Pa.
