Janice Hennick (Pine) died peacefully on February 15, 2023 at the age of 88. Born in Staten Island, NY on April 5, 1934, she lived in Columbus, OH with her beloved family for sixty six years. Jan was a lifelong registered nurse who graduated from Mountainside Hospital Training School in Montclair, NJ in 1951 and worked at St. Anthony Hospital Medical Center for 35 years.
Married to Harry Hennick in Yuma, AZ on June 28, 1955, Jan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Family was at the center of her life. Christmas was Jan’s absolute favorite holiday. She thought about Christmas year round—purchasing unique gifts for everyone in her family, planning out her annual Christmas party for family, and helping Harry decorate their home inside and out. For many years, a Santa sat on their front porch with everyone in the family’s name on his nice list. While the grandkids were little, they all received a special box wrapped in Christmas paper with their name on it and filled with individually wrapped gifts. Very few people have ever loved Christmas magic as much as Jan.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry, her parents Theodore and Marie Pine, her sisters Diana Pine and Norma Mathis and her great granddaughter Baylor Abbs. She is survived by and is lovingly remembered by her brother- Richard (Margie) Pine, children- Steve (Teresa) Hennick, Scott (Beth-Ann) Hennick, Jan (Frank) Sliva and Jennifer Shank (Shelley Scott), grandchildren- Michael, Brooke, Amy, Michelle, Megan, Ashley, Lyndsay, Jessica, Jenna, Theodore, Haley, Mikayla, Sara, Anton, and Jack, and great grandchildren- Taylor, Tyler, Logan, Olivia, Tara, Addison, Mason, Ellie, Everest, Ava, Parker, Nathaniel, Xavier, Zeke, Wyatt, Lucy, Emma, Blair, Hudson, Amelia, Bella, Chase, Knox, Hadley, Noah, Juno, Sawyer, and Grayson.
