His father had served in the Army and when he returned home, life was difficult for the family. George was 10 when he and 3 of his closest in age siblings went to a military school until they either graduated from or left on their own. George still spoke a little bit of German and enjoyed people's reactions to it. He also acted as a World Health Organization technical officer for a United Nations TB control program in Pakistan. George and his wife returned to the United States in 1968 where he worked in the Cardio-pulmonary division at University Hospital. He ended up working for the Red Cross and held other positions as a medical tech in other fields during his career. George had a love of God, learning, art and the Buckeyes. He was very talented and during his life went to Columbus State College where he earned an Associate Degree in Art, and also The Ohio State University to pursue and receive a BA degree in Art. His specialty was painting and sculpting but enjoyed many other art forms including photography. He also attended Apostolic Bible Institute in Minnesota where he earned his Ministerial license. In his later years he worked at Walmart.
